Membership Application
As of Jan. 29, 2004, The American Society by-laws specify two groups of members:
• Regular members: U.S. citizens, residing in Guatemala, 21 yrs or older, relatives of
U.S. citizens throughmarriage, parenthood and/or widows/widowers of U.S. citizens.
Eligible to hold office.
• Associate members: English-speaking persons who have a genuine desire to
participate in the activitiesof the American Society of Guatemala (ASG) but who are
not U.S. citizens.
• Regular and Associate members can vote in the Annual General Assembly; only
regular members can beelected to the Board of Directors. The four officers of the
Board of Directors must be US citizens.
● FEES: Membership fee is Q200.00 annually -- and will be prorated based on start
month of membership the first year. After first year, all annual fees are to be paid by
each March 31st.
● A new applicant must be sponsored by a current ASG member. The application must
be submitted to ASG Treasurer, Betsy Grenzebach, at betsogrenz@gmail.com
(Phone: 5979-0602) for Board Approval.
● Once we notify you of approval, you must pay fees via deposit at Banco
Industrial, Account 006-025244-2. Please ensure you submit a signed copy of your
deposit slip to ASG Treasurer, Betsy Grenzebach, at betsogrenz@gmail.com (Phone:
5979-0602) within 30 days of approval.
